Did you know that Oedipus was a pond of the gods? One of my Intro to Theatre students just cleared that question up for me. Now that I know, that particular Greek tragedy makes so much more sense . . .
Things are in full swing at the good ol' WSC. I just watched a run through of the Fall show, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. For being nearly four weeks out from opening night, they're looking amazing.
Sweet Jeebus, we're only four weeks away from opening night. Where did the semester go? Maybe it drowned in that pesky pond of the gods . . .
Anyway, spinstering adventures have been at a minimum, since I've been spending most of my time either working or sleeping--mostly working. I've got myself a hired gun for the costume shop, a woman who works in the bookstore downstairs and has done costuming before. I'm pleased as punch, or so the Brits would say, at having her help. Don't get me wrong, I love my little studentkas, but they work about four times slower than I do, and there comes a point in the semester where things have to get done, or we'll have naked people on stage. Hmmmm, naked people on stage . . . it would sell more tickets . . . perhaps I should consult the pond . . .
